Musical instruments are big investments and in some cases, family heirlooms. If something means enough to you to spend a significant amount of money on it, or it has been passed down from other family member, you want to do whatever you can to protect it. For just a small amount of money, you can make sure the most precious musical investments are protected from everyday dangers like cuts and scratches. Grand piano covers are easy to use and protect your instrument from harm. A grand piano cover offers you the assurance that the money you have spent and the special meaning behind your instrument will not be destroyed or worn out from regular wear and tear.

There are several reasons for purchasing protection for your instrument. The only way you would be able to completely protect your instrument from harm is by blocking off the room in which you keep it and never letting anyone near it. This takes all of the joy out of owning the instrument. For one, you never get to play it. You also never get to share it with your children and guests. This is no way to live when you have spent a great deal of money on an item. You want to enjoy it and share it with friends and family. The risk with sharing it is that accidents are unpreventable. Eventually, someone is going to bump into the instrument or accidentally get it wet. Draping protects it in both cases.

Homes with animals absolutely must have a way of protecting their valuable instruments. Dogs can bump into the instrument, knock things over or even have accidents close enough to cause damage. Cats will jump right up on top of the instrument with no regard for damaging it. Chances are the more you try to keep your cat off the top, they more they will focus on laying up there. Covering the piano means you have nothing to worry about.

The other benefit of putting something over your instrument is that it is protected if someone bumps into something else. Even if everyone in the space is careful not to touch the instrument, they could knock over something else that falls into your precious possession. The likelihood of this happening is even great when everyone is focused on protecting the instrument. If a drape is laid over top, you have little to worry about, even if something is knocked over and falls toward the instrument.

There are a number of general benefits to covering your instrument, too. It keeps dust from settling on the surface. You will have to clean and polish it less frequently. You will need to get it tuned less often because it will be protected from damage. It will also extend the life of your precious instrument so you can pass it down to future generations. There is no sense investing in or keeping an instrument in your home unless you are going to care for it. Covering it will keep the value high.
